Estação Ecológica Juréia-Itatins, São Paulo, Brazil
The Restinga (sand-based) forest of Juréia has a 5–18 m tall canopy and has several species of bromeliads in the understorey, with few epiphytic bromeliads, of which most are Vriesea procera. The climate of Juréia is classified as tropical hot and humid all the year, with temperatures exceeding 18 °C (September to March: 4700 mm rainfall on average, and from April to August, 1300 mm rainfall on average.
